Product Registration
Any new Kyser Quick-Change capo is eligible for product registration, including Quick-Change capos for acoustic or electric guitar, ukulele, banjo, mandolin or classical guitar. Other products eligible for registration include the Kyser Pro/Am capo, care and cleaning products including polishes and humidifiers, or guitar strings. By registering your product online, you will be able to manage your Kyser purchases as well as receive exclusive news, product release information and promotions specially tailored to the interests and preferences of registered product owners. Product registration also assists the customer service team in expediting any online warranty claims.

Yes. Online registration is not a warranty registration and is not necessary to validate your warranty. All Kyser Quick-Change capos are eligible for a limited lifetime warranty upon purchase. However, product registration is highly recommended to better manage and track your Kyser purchases.

All Kyser Quick-Change capos are “Guaranteed for Life”---Kyser is proud to offer a lifetime warranty on all Quick-Change products and will repair or replace your capo at no additional charge. All warranty claims must be submitted via the Warranty Info page on the Kyser website. We no longer accept warranty inquiries as official inquiries via phone, email or postal mail.
Spring repair is covered under the Kyser Lifetime Warranty. Warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time and use.
Be sure you're using the correct capo, and that your capo is correctly placed on the fretboard per instructions. Utilize the handle also known as the tension arm which you can bend slightly to increase or decrease tension.
All warranty claims should be fulfilled on the same day they are received. Please note that shipping timelines for replacement capos may vary depending on location and any delays experienced by Kyser's postal carriers.
Product Information
All Kyser products are sources and manufactured through local businesses in the U.S.A. Our capos are made by hand using a comprehensive 14-step process at our production facility in Kaufman, Texas.
Kyser is proud to support small American businesses and its message of quality, American-made product by sourcing all parts of its capos from manufacturers in the United States.
We use high grade aluminum.
We use high quality polyester powder coating.
The header card insert will have a copyright date on it, but this is changed every year. There is no way to determine DOM from capo itself. For more information on the manufacture date of your capo, you may submita contact us request and we can direct it to our expert team.
We discontinue products due overall failure, and if it is going to cost more to fix than we would've made in sales.
We shifted from a stamped into the aluminum logo, to a painted on the aluminum logo.
KG6LT was always matte black with black appointments. The packaging did get changed and the stamp had an LT added under the Kyser.
Sadly, we discontinued the series, and we no longer supply K-Lever capos from our warehouse. If you would like to submit feedback on the K-level, you can submit a request through our Contact Us form.
Kyser custom capos are available to our artist endorsers and select charity partners. At this time, we do not offer personalization or customization as a service to the public. These services may be available at a future time.
Care and Cleaning
In 2012, Kyser upgraded our liquid care product formulas and rebranded them as Kyser Lem-Oil, Kyser Polish, and Kyser String Cleaning. The Dr. Stringfellow brand name was removed from the packaging during this process.
Kyser (Polish, Lem-Oil, String Cleaning) is a proprietary blend of ingredients. You can find our list of ingredients on each individual product page.
Yes, our solutions are all tested and approved on nitrocellose finishes. However we recommend you use at own discretion, and against using it if there are cracks, checking, or dings in the finish.
Yes, it is OK for satin finish.
The Acoustic Guitar Humidifier fits sound holes 3 3/4" to 4 1/8”. The Classical Guitar Humidifier fits sound holes 3 3/8” to 3 3/4”. The Concert Ukulele Humidifier fits sound holes 1 22/25" to 2 1/4".
Maintenance Questions
While this varies depending on the frequency of play and the age of the strings, we recommend changingyour strings every four to six weeks. Because Kyser capos are Guaranteed for Life, you can always submit a warranty claim for an unexpectedwear, tear and repair, and we'll replace the capo for you free of charge. With that in mind, we recommend considering a replacement capo when the quality of your tone or instrument is compromised by extended use of the accessory.
No! We have dutifiully designed our soundhole humidifiers to drop directly in the guitar without any surface scratching or damange. With that in mind, we recommend ensuring all water is squeezed from the humidifier sponge before installing the humidifier. We also suggest storing your instrument in a case rather than hanging it to prevent the accumulation of moisture at the bottom of your guitar.
Kyser humidifiers are very easy to use: simply soak the sponge, squeeze and shake to remove excess moisture, thensnap the sponge back into place before inserting the humidifier into the soundhole of the instrument. The ring on the humidifier should sit on the edges of the guitar soundhole comfortably.
